A&W Hamburger Family
The A&W burger family statues first appeared in 1963. They represented the Papa Burger, Mama Burger and Baby Burger. In 1964 the Teen Burger was introduced. In 1974 the family statues were replaced by the Great Root Bear. Canada A&W added a Grandpa Burger and a Buddy Burger, but no statues were made.

Family vacation
In the 1950s, my family went on a two- week vacation to the western U.S. We traveled along route 66 from St. Louis to California. Our 1955 Mercury had no seat belts and no air-conditioning. It was a great trip.

Roger's first car was a 1933 Ford. This was the car he dated Sue in when they were teenagers growing up in Coffeeville Kansas. Now they are retired and live in Arizona. One of their favorite places to eat is Wisdoms' restaurant in Tumacacori, Az.

Nevada Lineman saves the day
In the middle of Nevada, we were stuck for almost two hours because an electric line blew down across the highway. Finally, the Sheriff came followed by a utility truck. We sat in our camper as a lineman fixed the problem all by himself. He was our hero that day. A beautiful orange Audi TT that flew by us on the highway, waited in front of us. So much for being in a hurry.
